Design Team Spotlight: Brenda Smith

November is all about thanks and giving and turkey! I am so thankful for the ladies of our design team that help bring life to our kits and give our customers great inspiration. During the month of November, we will be doing a Design Team Spotlight series by sharing some fun details about each of our design team members. To kick off this blog series we are interviewing Brenda Smith.

Brenda Smith
1. Name one crafting tool you can’t live without.
My Sewing Machine! Every layout and project life spread feels so naked without at least a little machine (or occasionally hand) stitching.

2. What are your favorite brands with which to work?
Such a tough question as there are so many great brands out there. I typically like all things Crate Paper and am often a My Mind’s Eye fan.

3. Name three crafters you admire most in the industry.
I admire Ali Edwards for her dedication to telling the story in a straightforward manner. She is a master at documenting her family as they are currently, making sure to tell all the little stories that combine to make the big story.

Leena Loh/Findingnana has such a great style with her pocket pages. There’s a fantastic balance between photos, product, and journaling. She combines them all in a way that highlights her family’s story so perfectly.

I also really admire Paige Evans for her inspired, unique, and creative layouts. She isn’t afraid to do something different and her projects are always lots of fun to look at.

4. What’s your favorite song right now?
“Talk is Cheap” by Chet Faker. This song has been on repeat for about the last 6 months. It is just so irresistible to me!

5. Share a photo of your 3 favorite layouts or projects.

I love Brenda’s style! Her layouts are always fun and the layering just right. Be sure to follow Brenda on her blog and Instagram for more inspiration and ideas!
