When I Rise | Elli

Hello friends! My name is Elli, and I’m excited to share an entry from my Bible using the October Faith Art Box.  Because I love hand lettering, I was immediately drawn to the “Give me Jesus” stamp. And what a perfect sentiment to add to my Bible. I really love the exclusive stamp set in this month’s Faith Art Box. It sums up my heart’s desire for the Lord and His word. In the morning, in the afternoon, in the evening, ALL DAY LONG give me Jesus! img_20161004_133740

I added this journal entry in the middle of Psalm 119. As I was reading through this Psalm, I saw the Psalmist’s deep desire and love for the LORD and His word.

He spoke of this desire in the morning:

“I rise before dawn and cry for help; I hope in your words”

Psalm 119:147

He spoke of this desire in the evening:

“At midnight I rise to praise You”

Psalm 119:62

He spoke of this desire all day long:

“Oh how I love your law! It is my meditation all the day.” Psalm 119:97

“My soul is consumed with longing for your rules at all times.”  Psalm 119:20

As I’ve studied God’s word and interacted with it through Bible journaling, God has given me a deep love for His word.  I know that longing for Jesus, that longing for His word and His promises that the Psalmist is speaking of here. I feel it too. No matter what my life circumstances are, Jesus is my source of comfort, my source of hope, the only thing that satisfies my soul.

“My soul longs for your salvation; I hope in your word. My eyes long for your promise” Psalm 119:81

So when I rise in the morning, in the evening, all the day,

GIVE ME JESUS

Give me my Savior. img_20161004_133539

To create this page I used the exclusive stamp set, stickers, and adorable bow clip all included in the October faith art kit. Grab one for yourself here: October Faith Art Box

I also added some of my own hand lettering, a little water color, and of course washi tape and a tab!
