Hello friends! Today I’m in the book of Ephesians chapter 5 doing a bible journaling page using the gorgeous July faith art box, and I couldn’t help but highlight around verse 1-14, as there was so much important stuff packed into them 14 verses that I wanted to share and talk about with you all.
“ Follow God’s example, therefore, as dearly loved children and walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God. But among you there must not be even a hint of sexual immorality, or of any kind of impurity, or of greed, because these are improper for God’s holy people. Nor should there be obscenity, foolish talk or coarse joking, which are out of place, but rather thanksgiving. For of this you can be sure: No immoral, impure or greedy person—such a person is an idolater—has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God. Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of such things God’s wrath comes on those who are disobedient. Therefore do not be partners with them. For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light (for the fruit of the light consists in all goodness, righteousness and truth) and find out what pleases the Lord. Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them. It is shameful even to mention what the disobedient do in secret. But everything exposed by the light becomes visible—and everything that is illuminated becomes a light.
Ephesians 1: 1-14
Jesus is the light of the world, and those living in darkness don’t want to come into that light because it will reveal the truth about themselves and their sin. So they stay away from the light. We as children of God need to let our little lights shine bright in the darkness.
For this bible journaling page I started off by adding some yellow paint to my page in various spots by scrapping an old gift card and paint down. Next I added some lines and dots using some of my Faber-Castell markers, and also using them to highlight around the verses. After everything was all dry I used a mix of the stamp set, alpha stickers, and the word stickers to write out “Your little light will shine even brighter in the darkness.” in the margin. I loved the enamel stickers that came as part of the subscriber exclusive this month. I added a few of them around the page to make it pop a bit. Last but not least my favorite… The bow! I like adding the bows to the tops of my pages to easily flip back to that page when I’m needing a good reminder to shine my light.
Thanks for stopping by, I want to encourage you to let your light shine brightly for all to see. If you are on instagram I would love to see what you are doing with your faith art box! Be sure to use the hash tag #CreativeRetreatKits
Be Blessed friends, Krystal
