Hello Friends!! It’s hard to believe it is August already! But with a new month comes a new faith art box!! I love the bright fun colors of the kit this month, still summery but the orange and the greens feel like a hint of fall. I was so happy to see that my friend Elli was the designer of this gorgeous kit, I just love her lettering!
Today I wanted to share with you a bible journaling page in Psalm 92 I finished, using this months box and some inspiration from Lindsey’s May blog post and video sharing how she made the floral wreath using the stamps from the May Kit. To see her post click here.
To start I lightly sketched a half circle onto my bible page, next I started out with the two floral stamps and stamped around the circle in various places and in no specific order, I did the same thing next using the leaf stamps and using all three sizes to mix up the look. I colored in the stamps using my Faber Castell Pitt Brush Markers. Inside the floral wreath I wanted to write something out using the word stickers and a few stamps. I decided to write out “Abide in the Lord, rejoice, and praise Him always!”. I thought it was a good reminder to go along with the Psalm. Last I took a little bit of black paint, added some water and mixed it up for a watered down black paint and used a small paint brush dipped in the paint and added some paint splatters to the page. It is a great technique for covering up and camouflaging any little mistakes I may have made with my ink when stamping… wink, wink.
A psalm. A song to be sung on the Sabbath Day.
It is good to give thanks to the Lord,
to sing praises to the Most High.
It is good to proclaim your unfailing love in the morning,
your faithfulness in the evening,
accompanied by a ten-stringed instrument, a harp,
and the melody of a lyre.
You thrill me, Lord, with all you have done for me!
I sing for joy because of what you have done.
O Lord, what great works you do!
And how deep are your thoughts.
Only a simpleton would not know,
and only a fool would not understand this:
Though the wicked sprout like weeds
and evildoers flourish,
they will be destroyed forever.
But you, O Lord, will be exalted forever.
Your enemies, Lord, will surely perish;
all evildoers will be scattered.
But you have made me as strong as a wild ox.
You have anointed me with the finest oil.
My eyes have seen the downfall of my enemies;
my ears have heard the defeat of my wicked opponents.
But the godly will flourish like palm trees
and grow strong like the cedars of Lebanon.
For they are transplanted to the Lord’s own house.
They flourish in the courts of our God.
Even in old age they will still produce fruit;
they will remain vital and green.
They will declare, “The Lord is just!
He is my rock!
There is no evil in him!”
Psalm 92 is such a great reminder of how good our Lord is and how faithful he is to those who abide in him, and how worthy he is of all our praise! Let us rejoice friends for all he has done!
