New Every Morning | Bible Journaling with Julie

“The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases;
    his mercies never come to an end;
they are new every morning;
    great is your faithfulness. “

(Lamentations 3:22-23)

God’s love is steadfast and never ending.  His mercies are new every morning!  The prophet Jeremiah writes these beautiful words for us all.  The two descriptions are almost contradicting:  they never end, but yet they are new and fresh every morning.  That is the mystery and magnitude of God’s love.  As great as His love is, He extends it to each of us.  That is super good news for me, because I mess up a lot, and I need His new mercies EVERY DAY!  Especially during the busy holiday season, when I tend to get overwhelmed with everything that (I think) needs to get done.  I can easily let irritability and stress control me.  Anyone else with me?  But thankfully, His mercy, grace and steadfast love cover all my major and minor mess-ups!

I loved creating this page!  I chose to paint a sunrise using watercolors to bring to mind the morning mercies.  I stamped out “His steadfast love endures forever” and used the precious purple alpha hexies to spell out “Your mercies are new every morning.”  I added rising hearts in the coordinating sunrise colors to imply the morning’s new love and mercy.  Washi tape, journaling, and other elements from the kit, such as that gorgeous purple gingham bow, finished off the page.

This month’s Faith Art Box is so versatile!  Be sure to pick yours up here.  You can use it for Advent journaling, as you’ll see some of the Design Team will be doing, or throughout the year for creating one-of-a-kind Bible journaling pages, cards, and other paper crafts.  Be sure to tag us on Instagram using @creativeretreat or #creativeretreatkits or #faithartbox.  Don’t forget about our Creative Retreat Insiders Group on Facebook.
