“But I am like a green olive tree in the house of God. I trust in the steadfast love of God forever and ever.” Psalm 52:8
My favorite place to journal is in the Psalms. There are so many beautiful prayers, praises, and promises. The Psalms are where I turn when I need a reminder of God’s love for me, a reminder of who God is, or some encouragement in the midst of difficult life circumstances. The Psalms truly lift my soul and help me to press on in trusting God and believing His love for me endures forever. I am His and He is mine. He is worthy of praise and He is worthy of complete trust always.
The Psalms often refer to God’s steadfast love. As I was reading through my little Psalms book, this verse from Psalm 52 stuck out to me. It’s an encouragement to put my trust in God, to put my trust in His steadfast love forever. I love that because it shows the correct response to God’s steadfast love. His love is forever, and I am to trust Him forever.
“I trust in the steadfast love of God forever and ever.” Psalm 52:8
One thing I’ve noticed is that as God has grown my understanding of His love for me, He has also grown my trust in Him. The more we see how much He truly loves us and cares for us, the more we desire to surrender to Him and to trust Him with the things we held onto for so long. For me personally that has looked like letting go of fears and anxiety. I can let go of my fears because I trust in the steadfast love of God.
I journaled this page in my little book of Psalms using the December faith art box. The first thing I did was create a watercolor background. I then used three stamp sets to stamp out ” Trust His steadfast love forever.” In addition to the December stamp set, I used the “zion alpha set” and the “full life stamp set,” all of which can be found in the creative retreat shop. I decided to use the word love from the “full life” stamp set instead of this month’s because the size fit better for this particular page. I then finished by adding a piece of scrap paper that says love on repeat and topped the page with a tab and flower sticker from the kit.
Thank you for taking some time to read and ponder God’s love with me. I pray everyone is enjoying the Christmas season and taking time to meditate on the steadfast love of God, a love made manifest to us in the gift of His Son Jesus Christ our Savior and Lord. Merry Christmas and God bless!
Trusting in His love,
