Alive In Christ | Bible Journaling With Lindsey

CRopen

Hello everyone, it’s Lindsey! Today I’m sharing another entry in my journaling Bible using the January Faith Art Box.

You can find a process video for this entry at the end of this post or over on the Creative Retreat YouTube Channel.

Dead to Sin, Alive to God

What shall we say then? Are we to continue in sin that grace may abound? By no means! How can we who died to sin still live in it? Do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life.

For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we shall certainly be united with him in a resurrection like his. We know that our old self[a] was crucified with him in order that the body of sin might be brought to nothing, so that we would no longer be enslaved to sin. For one who has died has been set free[b] from sin. Now if we have died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him. We know that Christ, being raised from the dead, will never die again; death no longer has dominion over him. 10 For the death he died he died to sin, once for all, but the life he lives he lives to God. 11 So you also must consider yourselves dead to sin and alive to God in Christ Jesus.

I know I’ve said it before but I’m loving that these kits now include devotional content in addition to all of the fun goodies! Danielle gave several verses to study in this months kit and I decided to use Romans 6:1-11 as my focus today.

1

Paul unpacks quite a bit in Romans 6 and so I’d encourage you to take some time to study it. I like to use the Blue Letter Bible app for different commentaries on the Bible when I’m working through a devotional. You can hear my thoughts on this passage in the video I created for this page.

I had a lot of fun pulling out some different paper pieces from my collection to pair up with this month’s kit. My goal this year is to use up some of my stash and I’d encourage you look through your stash to see what odds and ends that you can add in with these awesome kits.

Head on over to the Creative Retreat Kits shop to pick up this kit and check out the other goodies that are available.

Until next time!

Lindsey
