Transformation | Bible Journaling with Amy

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come:
The old has gone, the new is here!”
– 2 Corinthians 5:17

As Danielle points out in this month’s devotional, we’re not just changed when we become believers–we are transformed.  One definition of the word transform is that it is a dramatic change in character.  It’s not a superficial change in appearance or even behavior.  We are completely remade into a whole new creation!  How wonderful!

We see time and time again in the Bible that we cannot do good of our own accord.  It is a gift from God.  Certainly, when we are talking about becoming a new creation, that cannot be done by our own undertaking!  We believe and then God initiates the transformation in our hearts.  Once that happens, we are then able to go out into the world as new people.  We no longer live for ourselves, but live for HIM!

I used the adorable stamps and stickers in the January Faith Art Box to create this page.  I love the versatility (and cuteness!) of the scribble scallop stamp.  I know I will use it to make borders and dividers not only in bible journaling, but in my planners and journals, too!  I stamped the scallops with pink chalk ink and the scribble circle (or letter ‘o’!) stamp in black Staz-On ink to highlight the words, “new creation,”and finished it off with some word stickers and decorative stickers.  This lovely kit can be found at Creative Retreat Kits!

Love and blessings,
