As I was reading once again the marvelous story of Jesus calming the storm in Luke 8, a question came to my mind over and over again: Why were they so afraid? I couldn’t understand their behavior. The Lord was with them!
But suddenly I realized that I have had the same behavior and, saw myself reflected in the disciples. You see, before the storm, the disciples saw Jesus cleansing a leper; healing the centurion servant; they even witnessed the healing of Peter’s mother-in-law. But when it came their turn their faith hindered God’s miracle in them.
How many times we believe that God can do great things in other peoples lives, but in ours we get a little bit afraid? How many time we have doubted in what God can do and is willing to do in our lives? How many times we have let fear drown what we have believed by faith?
Jesus is with us and in us. We don’t have to be afraid thinking or asking ourselves if He is able to do something marvelous in our lives, because His love keeps us safe always.
