Bible Journaling with Lindsey | Wash Away My Fear

Hello everyone, it’s Lindsey! For today’s entry I’m diving into the April Faith Art Box to do some journaling in my Bible. You can find my process video at the end of this post and over on the Creative Retreat YouTube Channel.

23 And when he got into the boat, his disciples followed him. 24 And behold, there arose a great storm on the sea, so that the boat was being swamped by the waves; but he was asleep. 25 And they went and woke him, saying, “Save us, Lord; we are perishing.” 26 And he said to them, “Why are you afraid, O you of little faith?” Then he rose and rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a great calm. 27 And the men marveled, saying, “What sort of man is this, that even winds and sea obey him?”

Matthew 8:23-27

I love this passage of scripture! For starters, we get to see the humanity of Jesus. He was tired from performing miracles and being with the people so He and His disciples sought refuge on a boat, out in the sea, to get some rest. Even Jesus need to take a break at times!

Next we see that a storm came upon them…just like the storms that we’ve been told we will face as followers of Christ. And just like He was with the disciples, Jesus is always with us as we go through storms. He has the power to clear our storms but sometimes we have to go through them and when we do, Christ will be with us the entire time!

Check out the video below to see how this entry came together and be sure to head on over to the Creative Retreat Shop to grab this month’s Faith Art Box as well as some of the other goodies I used today.

Until next time!

Lindsey
