“And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.”
Philippians 1:6 NLT
God has had me in a real sweet season lately. I’m usually in a place where I can see where I need to improve and have an idea of who God created me to be, but it feels hopeless to actually get there. My word for this year is “Intentional”, and it’s something that I’m trying to grow in in multiple areas of my life. The last few months as I’ve strived for change and progress, God has met me where I’m at in a big way. Well, maybe in a small way, but it’s big to me 🙂
As I hold on to this image of where I want to be and who I believe God has created me to be, I’ve actually been able to see myself grow towards that person. And though, heaven knows, I’ve got a whole lot further to go in that growth, knowing that I’m on my way there has become a source of hope and encouragement in my life.
In this month’s kit’s devotional, Brittany has a few definitions laid out of the words we’re talking about (you know I am all about those definitions!). Here’s the definition for bloom:
Bloom: (verb) come into or be in full beauty or health; flourish.
I love that. “Come into full beauty”. That’s how I feel about the season I’m in now. I may not be in full beauty, as my God created me to be, but I’m coming into it; I’m a work in progress. By God’s goodness and love, I am growing and coming into the woman He created me to be. And, you guys, I am so excited!
I had a lot of fun playing with colors in this one! I used a “Banana” yellow Gelato to create the backdrop for my “BLOOM” sticker title to make it pop out just a little more. I stamped “Jesus” with the stamp in the kit and filled it in with one of my colored pens, and I used some highlighter washi tape to mark Philippians 1:6. Where I really had fun playing was with the cute little flower stamp. I used Faber Castell Big Brush pens (you could use any stamp marker! These stamps are great with stamp pens) to color the flower bud and stem at the same time and just went to town on my page! I’ve never done a stamp background like that before and I love it 🙂
