You might know a thing or two about fear. Throughout your life, you’ll probably face lots of situations that make you fearful or uncertain. But the good news is that you can have confidence that God is on your side!IMG_5871

” I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33 ESV)

My father died seven years ago, three days before Thanksgiving. For those who have loss someone dearly, losing someone special can be one of the most hardest situation in your life. I used to think that my father would be alive forever! But one Monday morning, at 5:30 I received a phone call from my brother letting me know that our father was rushed to the hospital because of a stroke. I remember that horrible sensation that Monday morning. I got up really fast from my bed, and as I was walking I started feeling dizzy and my legs began to trembled. I will never forget how I felt. I was daddy’s little girl, but he wasn’t with me anymore.

I began to experience the feeling of abandonment. I used to tell myself, “Where did you go? You left without saying goodbye.” In a way I can relate to the sorrow the disciples had  felt when Jesus told them that He was leaving. One day, in a conversation with my husband I said to him, “Now I know how a girl feels when her father leaves without a notice.” I felt alone, thinking to myself, “what I would do if I needed advice or who should I go to?” Fear began to conquer my heart.

Lord, give my heart peace. That was my prayer for many days. But one special day the Holy Spirit filled my heart with God’s Truth, and gave me the desires of my heart. I got to understand that my father passed away because it was his time, and God had called him. There was nothing I could do but trust in God and in His word. Trust that He would give my heart peace, not only in this situation, but in all situations. I had to put my trust in Jesus from that day forward.

He is the only one that can help us overcome all situations, and without him we are lost. My friend, don’t lose yourself in the fear of a situation you’re facing. In your hardest moments God wants to speak truth to you. The Bible says:

“And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good” (Rom.8:28 ESV)

There’s nothing in your life that God can not use for your good. God is aware of every situation in our lives. So dear friend, do not let fear make a home out of your heart. Don’t believe the lies of Satan saying that you can’t; that you will not overcome. Because Jesus has overcome!

Today, let’s surrender all, and give all our fears to the One that conquered fear. He has overcome the world, and we are no longer bound to the lies of the enemy. Together, may we declare that Jesus is our Lord and we are victorious in Him!

Until next time my friend,
