Bible Journaling with Lew | Fruit of Patience.

“May God, who gives this patience and encouragement, help you live in complete harmony with each other, as is fitting for followers of Christ Jesus.”

         Romans 15:5 NLT

We all have people in our lives who test our limits at times. The ones who we just want to “get it”, or who don’t have a kind sense of humor, or who just can’t grasp the concept of a 35MPH zone. Or hey, I don’t have any, but kids. Kids can test our patience (I can just see all of you moms nodding in unison). But when we have the fruit of patience in our lives, we have a greater opportunity to pour into others. This is something that God has been teaching me with one person in particular.
And you know what? Through our friendship God has not only gained in me more patience, but greater empathy, love, compassion, grace, kindness, humility, and more. And He’s gained in me a friend. All of those things have stemmed from God growing seeds of patience in my life. I love this friend of mine who tests my patience – she teaches me a lot about myself, and reminds me of how much I need Jesus and His patience and grace.
What has been testing your patience recently? When you ask for a greater measure of patience, also ask Him to show you how much impact that patience can have – in your life, and in the lives of those around you.
The stamps in this month’s kit were a fun one. I used the citrus slice stamp and colored only the outer circle rim (using big brush pens from Faber Castell). Then I colored the whole stamp and matched it with the half circles to create a fun, fruity, geometric shape! I colored them in with colored pencils and then added some enamel dot stickers in the kit for a little extra texture. I used the word stickers and stamps for the title, wrote out the verse above it (because, again, I keep finding the verses I want to journal already have journal entries on that page!), framed it with some washi tape, and then placed some of the enamel heart stickers around to give it a little something extra 🙂 And to finish it off, I splattered some water color over the page to add some color and funness to it! (acrylic paint with a little water will give you the same effect)
