Genesis 1:28 – And God blessed them. And God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it, and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”
After reading this month’s devotional, I searched for other verses that talked about being fruitful and this one popped up. I love that the first thing God commanded man to do is to be fruitful and multiply. His wish from the very beginning was for us to be producing good fruits and to continue the spreading of those seeds by “multiplying.” WOW! This brings a fresh new perspective to parenting for me. Not only am I called to be fruitful myself, but to help be an example to the next generation and raise up fruitful children as well. I am passionate about leaving a lasting legacy for the Lord, so leaving one of good fruits is important. What does this passage mean for you?
To create this page I used watercolors to produce a juicy ombré effect cascading from the top of the page. I then combined my own hand-lettering with the kit’s stickers and alphas to create my take away in the margin. I wanted to remember that God has commanded us to be both fruitful for His glory as mentioned above, and also fruit-full, as in full of the fruits of the Spirit. My prayer is that I only plant good seeds within myself and those around me so that I can grow for Him! I pray this over you too, friend!
