Growth is exciting. Just ask gardeners and farmers: They tend their plants with care and watch crops closely, hoping to see them flourish at just the right time.
For the most part, common sense tells us that we can expect to reap what we sow. If we plant strawberries, we get strawberries—not watermelons. If we plant a rose bush, we don’t expect tulips. What’s odd is how so many of us forget this basic principle when it comes to our spiritual life.
When a tree grows in height and width, anchoring roots deep in the soil, it not only becomes able to withstand storms; it also benefits plants, animals, and humans by providing shade, shelter, food, and oxygen. Read Galatians 5:22-25. When you allow the Holy Spirit to work in your life, you won’t just grow. You’ll become fruitful, blessing others and bringing glory to God.
This was an easy and simple page and only took me fifteen minutes to do. Creating in your Bible doesn’t have to take so much time. These easy and simple pages are great for when you’re in a hurry and don’t have much time.
First, I laid down some color on my page by daubing some VersaMagic Chalk Ink. This is an easy way to put down color on your page without the mess. Next, I stamped down the leaf stamp and some washy tape on the edge of the top and bottom of the page– making sure to let it go past the page to give it some interest. Then I took the word stickers and word stamps and wrote out– “Grow & bear fruits of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.” Last, I added a few of the other stickers to fill in some of the spaces, outlined the verse that I was working on, and put down some lines for journaling/prayer, and added the date.
