Hey guys, it’s Deeds!
So very excited to share today! This summer I celebrated my 20th birthday! 20 years! 2 whole decades of being in Christ! WOOT!
On the Creative Retreat Youtube Channel, I go into a bit about what this special time has meant for me in my journey with Jesus. This is a memorable thing; a blessed thing! Jesus has saved me for His own, and I’m eager to tell you about it!
The process for this page was very simplistic. I didn’t truly know where to begin, but after I did some wash with pink acrylic, and then some simple floral work with the red, it sort flowed from there. I don’t know how it works out, but it just does. I love bible journaling for the beauty of being in God’s Word! I spent a great deal of time on this page because I got lost in the memories of July 28, 1998 – “My Gotcha Day.”
I remember where I was, and what I was doing. I can still remember the softness of the dirt in my back yard through which I hammered a wooden stake that said, “DD saved July 28, 1998.” I affectionately drew a small cross underneath, and to this day, it’s a memorial in my head!
The new memorial I’m putting in my bible today is similar in textual content, but as far as the stake… I’m not sure where that ended up. I’m grateful everyday for Jesus’ mercy and grace in my life. Since that day, 20 years ago, I have been through serious bouts of ups and downs. It’s the Christian life – the ebb and flow is normal, and the clinging to the precious Savior is quintessential. God has taught me so much about Himself; some I believe with my whole being, some He has to reteach me. I love how He knows… He just knows. Everything. All that I ask, He already knows. All that I need, He already provides. All that I am, He has filled.
My testimony is lengthy and I won’t get into too much detail today. But little pieces of God’s hand in my life comes through the different process videos I do for Creative Retreat, as well as my personal Channel videos.
God has given me blessed hope in Him. He’s Almighty God – the great I AM. Because I am in Christ, I am His child.
“and I will be a father to you,
and you shall be sons and daughters to me,
says the Lord Almighty.” 2 Corinthians 6:18
Blessed Father, I love you. I love your compassion. I love your Father attributes. I love the being you have shown yourself to be. I love what you’re teaching me, and pray for wisdom to learn better and faster.
Thank you for calling me your own, and thank you for never letting me go!
Forever I am yours… Chosen and sealed! In Jesus’ name. Amen.
