Weariness—whether physical, emotional, or spiritual—happens to us all. Isaiah reminds us that although we become tired, the Lord, the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth “will not grow tired or weary”. How easily is it for me to forget that in every situation, “the Lord gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak” (Isaiah 40:29-31).
What’s it like on your journey today? If weariness has caused you to forget God’s presence and power and strength, why not pause and recall His promise. “Those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength”.
In 2 Corinthians 12: 8-10 says that His strength is made perfect in our weaknesses. When life’s struggles make you weary and weak, find strength in Him and His promises.
This page was so good for my heart and I really enjoyed the process. First, I scraped down some acrylic paint using a card to get some color down in the background. This is the easiest and fastest way for me and doesn’t take much time. I decided on blue and yellow. Next, I looked over the word stickers knowing I wanted to make clusters and decided what to put down. On the upper right side, I put down, “My strength is made perfect in you”, making sure to use a variety of words, labels (from old kits), and stamps. On the bottom right, I put down, “In my weakness, You are strong”, also making sure to mix it up for contrast. I drew some lines in the middle for my prayer/journaling. On the top and bottom of the page, I put down two kinds of washy, also layering them to add interest. Then, I used some of the embellishment stickers and used this month’s free printable (found on the Creative Retreat FB Insiders Page) to fill in some of the white spaces in between the words and on the text. Last, I topped the page with the bow clip that came in the kit. This bow clip is super cute and fun because of it’s size.
Bible journaling doesn’t need to take a lot of your time. It doesn’t need to be complicated either. This page is easy and simple and only took 20-30 minutes to create.
