Bible Journaling with Heidi: Run into God’s Arms

I often find God’s timing to be quite amazing. My prayer life has never really been great, and I just told God I would work hard on the prayer aspect of my life. Then this devotional shows up. Coincidence? I don’t think so!

I wanted to journal Matthew 7:7-8, but that page was already journaled in my Bible. When this happens, I like to take my journaling into my hymnal.

I love what the author of the devotional (Kaitlin Wernet) points out to us concerning verses 7 and 8 of Matthew 7 : “Ask Him. He gives. Seek Him. Find Him. Knock on His door. He will open it.” I had never really noticed this in the verses. It simply blows my mind!

Basically, all we need to do is make the effort to come before God, seek Him, and ask Him to work in our lives. He takes care of the rest. How amazing is that? We have an amazing Father who is just waiting for us to come to Him and knock on His door. He wants us. He wants a relationship with you and me.

And how amazing is it that we can call upon God whenever? Whether it is the morning, the afternoon, or at not, God is ready to listen to us and welcome us into His arms. We need to remember that privilege and not take it for granted. God is right there, waiting for us to come to Him. In my head, I see the image of a toddler starting to walk. The Mom or Dad is there, crouched down, arms stretched out, waiting for the child to run into their arms.

Run into God’s arms, sweet friend. He will welcome you.
