- lasting or existing forever; without end or beginning.
- (of truths, values, or questions) valid for all time; essentially unchanging.
Can you think of anything that is truly eternal? I can only think of two things: a circle and God. A circle has no beginning and no end. Same with God. He always was, always is, and always will be.
In Hebrews 13: 8 we read “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.” As humans, we grow and change. We are (or should be) constantly learning about who we are and how to improve our lives. As a mother, I am always trying to do ‘better’ for my family. I want to change my behaviors to raise my children with the habits I wish I had. But God. God doesn’t change. He is eternal.
As hard as it is to imagine a holy being existing forever without ever changing, it is also comforting. There is peace that comes from knowing that God will not change. He will always be a forgiving, loving god who wants his children to worship Him.
This month’s kit focuses on God as the perfect, eternal promise maker and promise keeper. Who else but God could promise eternal salvation? We see evidence of His promises throughout the Old Testament and we read how those promises were fulfilled through Christ in the New Testament.
Through His promise, we have eternal life. His promises are the same yesterday, today, and forever.
When I saw this month’s kit, I knew I wanted to play around with the stamps to create my own embellishments.
I stamped the icons onto velum from the Felicity Jane Brooke 2×2 pad. The colors match the kit perfectly and I had so much fun mixing and matching the colors and elements.
I also knew these colors would make a fun shaker pocket for my entry, so I used some glitter, sequins, stickers, stamps and some old packaging to add more color and sparkle to an already colorful entry.
I now have a vibrant, colorful, and fun entry to remind me that only God is truly eternal. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
