Bible Journaling with Heidi | Give God Control

Proverbs 1

Hi, friends! I am excited to be back and to dig into this topic of giving God control of our lives. Before jumping right into the story I have for you, let me just start by telling you that the devotional from this kit is my favorite so far! It is so deep and so powerful.

For those of you who don’t know, I am working at a camp for the summer. I worked here a few years ago, and I told myself back then that I would never come back here to work again. I would come back as a guest, but not to work. Well, back in February, God kept putting the camp on my heart, in my mind. It kept coming up over and over again in my thoughts. I decided that God probably was telling me that He wanted me at camp again. So I applied and was hired.

Proverbs 2

Fast forward to May – I arrived at camp in the middle of the month. The weather was horrible for a month, work was super slow, so boring, and I just wanted to quit. I wanted to go back home and work at the restaurant again.

But who am I to tell God what is good or not good for me? He wants me here. I may not know why He called me to serve here again this summer, but I decided to follow His lead. He is in control. And since I have surrendered that to Him, I have found so much more joy in being here and in my job.

Proverbs 3:5-6 says : “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make straight your paths.”

Proverbs 3

I invite you to try to trust God and give Him complete control of your summer, of your life. He has it all under control.

Journaling at camp has been a lot harder than doing it at home on my desk, but having kits like this one has been so helpful! Follow me on Instagram @creative4hisglory for more of my summer adventures in my Bible! 🙂
