Bible Journaling with Diana | Lead the Way

Do you have a word? A ‘One Little Word’?  You know, a word you pick to be your focus word for the year. I don’t currently have one but I did two years ago. After moving to a new state, finding myself in a job I despised, with no one (expect my husband and little kids of course). I felt alone. I felt as if something was missing. I needed to find a church. I needed people to help me. I needed to find myself.

So I picked a word: trust.

I needed to trust that God had a plan for me. I needed to trust that I had made the right decision to move somewhere new. I needed to trust that everything would work out.

So I started going to church. I started bible journaling. I started listening to more worship music. One of the popular songs at the time was, get this, Lauren Daigle’s “Trust in You”. It all seemed to fit together.

Maybe that’s why I haven’t picked a new word. My first ‘OLW’ was such a good one. And it’s one I need to keep coming back to over and over. I think it is something that I will continue to keep in my mind year after year. TRUST.

When I saw this month’s kit, I knew exactly what I wanted to do with it. Write out a reminder to trust God’s plan; to let Him lead the way.

With a little patterned paper and the kit stickers, I was able to make a simple but impactful entry.

So I guess my word is, and will always be, trust

I would love to hear if you have a word. Do you journal it? Meditate on it? Let me know in the comments!

  1. My 2019 OLW is “JOY”. Facing chronic illness & debilitating pain everyday & raising my 9 yr old gRA D’s On, (I’m 67) I lean into joy. My tendency is to sigh upon waking to screaming joints & my prayer for years has daily been, “Help me Lord! I have to move, function, get going,” etc. But I WANT my prayer to be, “Thank you Lord for the gift of a new day! For the blessing of this darling little boy & a loving husband! For the medical people who attend me at home & my Bible journaling sisters!” As I pray this each morning “joy” chases my blues away!! The Lord is so good to me & I want my life to reflect that. What better way than to put on joy each morning?!! ~Lenora💕
