Bible Journaling with Heidi: Follow His Ways

Psalm 119 - 1

Hello friends! I am so happy to be back again for another blog post to share with you. For this entry, I wanted to make sure I had a good amount of space to journal my thoughts.

I am working at a Christian camp for the summer, and every Sunday night, we have what we call Staff Chapel. One of the speakers for the week shares a short devotional or sermon with us. And one of them really touched me. The speaker was preaching out of Psalm 119:9-11 that says, “How can a young man keep his way pure? By guarding it according to your word. With my whole heart I seek you; let me not wander from your commandments! I have stored up your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you.”

He went on to say this: “Keep your way pure with God’s Word. There is no road to purity other than God’s Word.”

Psalm 119 - 2

This had me thinking. How do I treat God’s Word? Do I treat it with respect and love? Do I get excited about reading it? Am I spending the time I need and should in the Bible? Am I storing God’s Word in my heart? Meditating on it and memorizing Scripture?

Well, I realized that I haven’t and still am not, giving God’s Word priority. I get back from work at night and I am tired and don’t feel like it. I prefer just reading my books. But I need to make God a priority! He is so worth it. I need to follow His ways, follow His road to living a pure life.

Psalm 119 - 3

I guess my closing question would be this: What are your answers to those questions?

I invite us all to examine our hearts and choose God’s ways – the pure way. Let’s dig into Scripture more than before. Let’s memorize a lot more verses. Let’s pray more. All that to praise and glorify our Lord and Savior.

You can get this kit here (it’s one of my favorite kits!) and follow me @creative4hisglory on Instagram to see more of my crafty projects. Thank you for taking the time to read this post. To God be the glory.
