Everyone who is called by my name, whom I created for my glory, whom I formed and made…You are my witnesses,” declares the LORD, “and my servant whom I have chosen, that you may know and believe me and understand that I am he. Before me no god was formed, nor shall there be any after me.” Isaiah 43:7,10
For this entry, I decided to interact with the entire chapter of Isaiah 43. When Bible journaling, it can be easy to focus on a single verse and lose sight of the context, but engaging with the whole chapter helps me understand the full meaning even if I can only journal a few of those verses. Isaiah 43 is about the redemption and restoration that God will accomplish for His covenant people (v.18-21), which is an expression of His love and glory (v. 4,7). God is described as the Savior of His people (v. 3, 11). Ultimately, these promises find their greatest fulfillment in the person and work of Jesus Christ. This chapter also serves as a reminder that salvation is not ultimately about us (v. 25). It’s about Him. We are called by His name, chosen by His grace, and created for His glory.
For this entry, I wanted to use as many of the stickers as I could. I love the stickers that come with these kits and often save them. I used a combination of stickers and stamps to write out my titles. I added a few leaves and flower stamps and colored them in using NeoColor II. I added some of the beautiful washi that came in the kit to the top and bottom. As always, I added my date stamp.
