Hello everybody, I am so happy to be back to share this new kit with you all! I hope you all had an amazing Christmas with your friends and family.
First off, I have to tell you all that I love the “Who Do You Say I Am?” kit! The colors, the stickers, the washi tape, the customizable alphas – they are all so beautiful! But what I love even more is that the kit devotional makes you think about who you think God is. I think that there are so many misconceptions about who He is going around in today’s society. People are angry at God, they think He is a God of anger and so many other horrible misconceptions. So I think that it is good for us to take time and remember who He really is.
Jesus asks His disciples that question in Matthew 16:13-16. It says, “Now when Jesus came into the district of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, ‘Who do people say that the Son of Man is?’ And they said, ‘Some say John the Baptist, others say Elijah, and others Jeremiah or one of the prophets.’ He said to them, ‘But who do you say that I am?’ Simon Peter replied, ‘You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.'”
You see, Jesus is amazing at asking questions. I don’t know about you, but I usually don’t like answering questions. I sometimes find it annoying, and as I told my mom, in tears, when I was in second grade, “It’s too hard to think!” (I was literally crying so hard when I said this!) But this is such an important question we need to take the time to think about! When hard times come, we can then remind ourselves who God really is. He is so much more than the many names I found below. I don’t think we will be able to fully understand who God is until we get to heaven. But we can still take the time to remember who He is – He is love, He is patient, He is a friend, He is the Messiah, He is life, He is Wonderful, He is faithful, and so much more.
Friends, who do you think God is? Take some time to think about it today, or this week. Write it down, journal your thoughts out, even if it is a hard question, and thinking is hard. It is worth it. And when you are facing a hard time, take out that journal and remember who He is.
