When I saw this month’s kit, I was inspired to create a mini book as a way to reflect on the journaling prompts- especially the part about taking a soil sample of my heart. The devotional encourages us to list 5 adjectives that describe our soil. Is mine enriched and fertile? Or is it dry and lacking nourishment? There is so much to reflect on. More than just my normal bible journaling entry would allow space for.
For this mini book, I used a bunch of different scrap papers from my stash, anything that was floral or matched the colors of this kit were considered. I added the journaling cards from the digitals, making sure to leave plenty of space to fill in with my journaling (I can add a swipe of white paint to create an open space on some of the busier patterns).
The great thing about printables is you can reprint them as many times as you want! You can also maniputale the images to print just the pieces you want (no photoshop skills needed either). I love the florals in this kit, so I knew I would want multiples. I selected the image using the snipping tool on my computer and pasting it into a Word doc. I even selected only the letters I wanted from the alphabet to create a title (for a planned future entry). I printed these items on white sticker paper so they are easy to adhere to my project.
Of course I needed to add little clusters of the kit’s flowers throughout. I will be coming back to this kit multiple times in the coming month (and probably beyond) and am so happy to have this space to reflect and document how I tend the garden of my heart.
