Revelation is a tough book for me to get into. It’s all so much for me to take in and try to make sense of that I have only read through it once. In this month’s devotional, Jessica prompts us to consider God’s trustworthy promise in Revelation 21. A promise that spans hundreds of years prior in Isaiah 43.
God promised in Isaiah 43 to:
“…do something new”
“…provide water in the wilderness, rivers in the desert, to give drink to my chosen people.”
“…sweep away your transgressions… and remember your sins no more…”
In Revelation 21 we can clearly see God’s promises are trustworthy, that there is a plan to fulfill the promises in Isaiah:
“…a new heaven and a new earth…”
“Death will be no more; grief, crying, and pain will be no more…”
“Look, I am making everything new.”
“I will freely give to the thirsty from the spring of the water of life.”
It’s amazing to think that God has this all planned out. And he has planned it for good! To be with Him, dwelling eternally in a new heaven with no pain or guilt from sins in our past.
God is already at work. He has made a plan for our salvation, and His plans are trustworthy and true.
