Bible Journaling With Jill |Trust in God’s Providence

A man’s steps are determined by the Lord, so how can anyone understand his own way?

Proverbs 20:24

The first half of this proverb acknowledges God’s control over our lives. Human beings make decisions and take action, but ultimately, it is God who guides the course of our lives. As much as we would like for him to, he doesn’t necessarily reveal what our future will be. It belongs to the secret things of God (Deut. 29:29), and we only find out the path our lives will take as we walk down it. If we can’t know the mind of God (Romans 11:33-34), then we are left to simply trust his character and providence. This is not always easy, but it is an important step in our spiritual growth.

For this page, I wanted to use the open bible image included in the printables. I felt like the image was a little small for the particular Bible I was using, so I opened the file in Photoshop, enlarged the image, and then printed it out on clear label paper (you could accomplish the same thing by changing the scale of the page on the print menu). I used other elements from the printable to add a title and cut out a tab. For some of the elements, I put them on double-sided sticky foam to give the page some more dimension. I used guava colored gelato to highlight the verse. Lastly, I finished with my date stamp.
