Hi friends! Happy new year! I am so excited to be back to share my journaling page with you. I don’t know about you, but I often feel overwhelmed by the standards the world sets, things like being skinny, making a ton of money, having to achieve certain things, always working more and more, etc. But I have good news for you : God does not call us to these standards! He actually calls us to live according to His standards, not the world’s.
Romans 12:2 says : “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.“
Matthew 16:26 says : “For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul? Or what shall a man give in return for his soul?“
This lead me to ask myself some hard questions. What am I seeking? Am I seeking God first, or the world’s approval? Am I spending my money to gain more things of the world, or am I spending it wisely?
Friends, let’s remember that our riches are in Christ (You can read Ephesians 1 for more on this) and not in anything found in the world. Let’s try to live by God’s standards!
