Bible Journaling with Jill | He is Risen

He is not here, for he has risen, as he said. Come, see the place where he lay.

Matthew 28:6

The three days between Jesus’ death and resurrection must have felt like years to His disciples. They have been told that He would return, but in those moments they felt so lost and afraid. The disciples had just lost their leader, the person they depended on and followed. They did not (and could not) fully understand all that was taking place at that moment.

Have you ever been through a difficult time that made you feel lost and afraid? I am sure all of us can say that we have. In the midst of those difficult times, it is easy to lose hope because we cannot see the big picture. But know this – God has a plan of us (Jeremiah 29:11), just like He had a plan when Jesus died on the cross. Jesus had to die so that we could be reconciled to God and live forever with Him (1 John 5:11-12), but Jesus did not stay dead! He rose again conquering death and giving us hope.

I kept this page pretty simple. I started by using the leaves stencil from the kit and Waterfall ink. I mixed texture paste and Rose Corsage ink together on a mat, and using a putty knife, I applied it over the floral stencil. After letting it dry, I painted the flower with pink acrylic paint. I stamped “just as he said” from the stamp set in Rose Corsage ink. Using the Zion stamp set and letters that I cut out using my die cut machine, I created my title. I finished the page with paint splatters and my date stamp.

Thanks for following along. Be sure to check out this kit along with other great journaling products from Creative Retreat Kits. You can follow me on Instagram for more inspiration.
