Encouraging Others | Tara

Hello friends, Tara here! I hope you had a blessed Christmas and wish you joy and peace this coming year. Today I wanted to share how I like to use some of the stamps.

I decided to use the “Trust in the Lord” stamp from the December Faith Art Box as my main sentiment:

fullsizerender-65I cut down a 12×12 piece of cardstock paper into 3×4 cards. I prepped them with some white Gesso before adding some watercolor and watercolor splotches. Don’t forget to practice patience while each layer dries – or just use a heating tool like I did! Next I inked the stamp with StazOn ink.

I also added some little stamp details from the More of You, Thy Will, and Full Life stamp sets, as well as the December stamp.

I have been praying and asking God to lead me to glorify Him as a mother to my boys. One of the verses that has been resonating in my heart is Ephesians 4:32 –

“Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.”

I find it easy to get caught up in myself, which more times than not leads me down an angry and ugly path. With boys, I often feel like I need to show them tough love. In reality, I need to be gentle, just as God is with me. I need this reminder to be more tenderhearted with others, especially with my sons!

I wanted to encourage other mom friends (not just moms of boys) too! I plan to mail these out soon as a reminder to give ourselves, and our children, to God. His plan is greater than anything we could ever dream up and I need to put my faith and trust in Him.

I love that we can help build each other up with words of encouragement and praying for our friends. These simple cards were easy to create and I enjoy making things to share with others. Do you ever create things with the Creative Retreat kits to give to others? Please post what you have done!

Be blessed! Xxo, Tara

    1. Hi Helen! I always hope that I can share and encourage another person. It’s so nice when you least expect it to receive even the smallest things – a hug, a phone call, something in the mail – from a friend. xx
