Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
Fall has always been my favorite season. I love all the fall festivals, pumpkin patches, and the cooler weather, but one thing that I have come to appreciate is the attitude of thankfulness that comes along with the season. With Thanksgiving coming up, we all tend to focus more on family and everything we have to be grateful for. For Christians, thanksgiving should be more than just a holiday. It should be a way of life.
Throughout the Bible, we are repeatedly commanded to “give thanks always” (1 Cor. 1:4, Eph. 5:20, 1 Thess. 1:2). Of course, that is easier said than done when times are hard. The reality is that, as believers, we have all been blessed with the greatest gift – a gift that we should always be thankful for. That gift is eternal life through Jesus Christ. God loved us so much that he sacrificed his Son for us so that we could be forgiven of our sin (John 3:16).
That means if you are in Christ, you are forever loved. You are forever accepted. You are forever welcome in the presence of the Almighty. With our eyes fixed on Christ, our heart will be forever thankful.
For this page, I used a combination of the Faithfilled Digitals and the stamp set from this month’s kit. Using the pattern paper and journaling cards, I cut out flowers with my die cut machine. I used Sizzix Floral Wreath Thinlits dies and floral dies that came with my Sizzix Big Shot. For the center of the flowers, I added an enamel dot from the kit. I stamped the title and the leaves, then I used double-sided tape to hold the flowers down. For the center, orange flower, I used doubled-sided foam tape to pop it off the page a little. Using a tab punch, I made a tab from some of the left over pattern paper and attached it to the top of the page. I added a “Thankful” sticker and some more flowers to the tab. Finally, I finished the page with some paint splatters and my date stamp.
